It is hard to imagine that any modern company operating in the information society could avoid dealing with intellectual property and rights that protect them. Intellectual property rights (IPR) are vital to companies that base their operations on new technologies, distinctive designs or well-known brands. Even if a company is not focusing on creating innovations, intellectual property rights may still play an important strategic role for it.
During this course you will familiarise yourself with intellectual property rights and learn how they are utilised in a business environment. At first, intellectual property rights may seem somewhat complex, especially when the development of new technology comes into play bringing new sorts of IPR -questions to consider. However, after successfully passing the course, you will be able to recognise possibilities as well as difficulties related to intellectual property rights.
