IPR University Center – Information about Intellectual Property Rights

IPR University Center is an inter-university institute focused on intellectual property rights (IPR)*, supported by a broad network of Finnish companies, IPR University Center Association. In global markets, intellectual property rights are strategic competitive assets for companies. They serve as tools for protecting and utilising innovations, and today as much as 90% of a company’s value may be based on intangible assets.

IPR University Center supports Finland’s innovation system and the country’s overall growth by developing IPR expertise on a broad scale through high-quality education aimed at its higher education members and other stakeholders. It also develops, coordinates, and produces academic research in cooperation with companies and universities.

In addition to these activities, IPR University Center organises networking events, provides information services, maintains a legal case database focused on intellectual property rights, and publishes the online magazine IPRinfo. We collaborate with universities, companies, the public sector, and various organisations. Read more about us.

*Intellectual property rights (= IPR) include, among others: copyright, trademarks, patents, utility models, design rights, and trade secrets.
