In February 2025 the European Commission announced the withdrawal of its proposal for a regulation on standards-essential patents. Various aspects of the proposal attracted criticism from SEP holders as well as from others, such as scholars. This webinar examines the key issues in the SEP proposal and what lessons policymakers could learn from them going forward in developing future policy on SEPs.
