Future Regulation of Industrial Internet – Final seminar

The Industrial Internet is a phenomenon in which internal business processes, products and services are linked with the internet. It includes an industrial subset of the IoT, enriched by the analysis of massive amounts of data produced by sensors and other devices. Currently, the Industrial Internet is presented in the popular press as a disruptive technology that has the potential to change the entire ecosystem of several industries. Yet many stakeholders are confused by the opportunities and risks associated with it and by what the Industrial Internet really means for businesses and national economies. Before we can see the benefits from the opportunities provided by the Industrial Internet, we need a clarity of legal rules and the removal of regulative obstacles and risks that are currently standing in front of Industrial Internet applications.

This seminar addresses core issues related to the Industrial Internet and discusses possible legal and policy-related issues that are needed in order to facilitate the creation of legislation and policies that promote Industrial-Internet-related technologies and new business opportunities. It will be of interest for a variety of audiences, including academics, legal practitioners, companies operating in the Industrial Internet ecosystem, as well as to the legislature and the policymakers.
