IP Academy 2024 – Students

IP Academy 2024 for students (2 ECTS)
The program for students (2 ECTS) includes: an introductory and concluding info session (online), preparation for the assignment before the seminar + readings, participation in all parts of the seminar in Helsinki (excluding the Networking Dinner, which is not included in the free student ticket), and writing the assignment after the seminar.

Assignment description: Students will write a short essay individually or in pairs on a topic of their choice that will be discussed in the seminar. The best essay will be published (with the student’s consent) in the IPRinfo magazine along with a short interview with the student(s). IPRinfo magazine has a wide readership among professionals in the field. Further details will be provided during the introductory session, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the assignment or seminar content during the concluding session after the seminar.

Intellectual property (IP) is a valuable asset for companies, and its importance is constantly growing in the global market. IP Academy is a 2-day event built on seminars, panels and plenty of time for informal discussions. It brings together practitioners, researchers, and students interested in IP. The event provides an unique opportunity to learn how to leverage intellectual property as a business resource, discover how to generate value from it, and gain a competitive edge in the market.

IP Academy 28-29.11.2024 offers students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of intellectual property (IP) and earn 2 ECTS. Students must complete tasks before and after the program to qualify for academic credits. Attendance at all seminars is mandatory. The seminar is free of charge for our member university students.

Students are required to have basic knowledge of IPR before attending the IP Academy (e.g., IPR is the new black).

Registration for attending IP Academy and earning study credits will be open until 31.10.2024 23.59.

IPR University Center will handle all the applications and you will receive the information about the acceptance by 4.11.2024. Before registering, please confirm with your own institution that the course can be credited towards your degree. Credits are granted by each student’s own university, IPR University Center does not have the authority to register credits. After the event, IPR University Center will provide a certificate of participation, including a description of the event’s content and scope.

You can also apply for a free spot at the seminar without earning credits. Please indicate on the form whether you are participating in the seminar for credits or just attending to listen to the presentations

Please note that the networking dinner is not included for those who register for the seminar as a student.

Cancellations must be done by 14 November 2024. After that 50 % fee applies. If you don’t cancel your registration we will charge the whole fee. Cancellation policy applies to all participants, including students!
