Standard Essential Patents and the IoT

SEPs have become a contentious topic due to the enormous success of standards-enabled markets, such as cellular standards. With the convergence of connectivity in what is known as the Internet of Things (IoT), SEPs will continue to be an important issue beyond mobile into nearly all industries. This seminar will address the reasons for the current contention around SEPs and delve into what we might expect in new IoT contexts.
