ATRIP essay competition 2017

ATRIP’s Executive Committee is proud to launch its annual essay
competition for young researchers in intellectual property law. The
competition is sponsored by FICPI, the International Federation of
Intellectual Property Attorneys.

Guidelines for participants:
The paper may pertain to any topic related to intellectual property law.
Papers may be submitted in French or English. Entries should be submitted to admin@atrip.org no later than 15 February 2018.

The text of the paper should be no less than 5,000 words and no more than 10,000 words, including footnotes. The manuscript should not identify the author and should not have been published or accepted for publication.

The author of the paper should be no older than 35 years of age as of December 31, 2017.

The Executive Committee will consider many factors in its evaluation of the submissions, including:
• coherence and structure of the argument
• the quality, detail and approriateness of references to the current and relevant literature
• originality of the topic, argument and analysis
• relevance of the contribution beyond one jurisdiction (including relevance to international IP or a comparative analysis)

The authors of the top three placed papers will be announced on the ATRIP website and the papers uploaded to the essays section.

The author of the first placed paper will be invited to give a presentation as a speaker at the 2018 ATRIP annual Congress to be held in Helsinki, Finland.

The Executive Committee reserves the right not to proclaim any or all winners should the quality of the papers be considered insufficient.
