China IP Day IV, Changing IP Enforcement in China – New Anti-Monopoly Developments?

With the latest publication of regulations and judgments concerning the anti-monopoly issues related to exercising intellectual property rights in China, the interface between intellectual property rights and anti-monopoly issues attracts the attention both from academia and business practice. These regulations and decisions certainly may affect the practice of exercising of intellectual property rights in China especially in licensing, which will become potential challenges in conducting business in China. It is a time to hold a seminar to catch up with the recent development and research in this field.  Arranged as a part of the research activitirson going academic project on Sino-European comparative law, the seminar will examine in depth the application of Anti-Monopoly rules to intellectual property rights in China, highlighting recent practices and court cases.  It will cover the following topics:

•     The basic structure of anti-monopoly law
•     The enforcement of anti-monopoly law
•     The relation between anti-monopoly law and intellectual property protection
•     Definition of relevant market in abuse of IPRs cases in China
•     Intellectual property abusive behavior of undertakings with a dominant market position,
•     Abusive behavior in licensing of standard essential patents

This seminar is suitable for law students, lawyers in private practice, in-house counsel, legal researchers and representatives of relevant governmental authorities.
